Our first fort

Leah coming in the fort
Evan in the fort
Having fun in the fort
The destruction of the fort
Yesterday as I was folding bed sheets and of course Evan and Leah had to come check it out and roll all over them. I had a flashback of when my sister and I were little and we would round up chairs, cushions, sheets, etc. and build a fort. So, instead of finishing the folding, I decided to take build Evan and Leah their first fort (although it was a lousy one....I was tired). Anyway, the kids were confused on what was going on until I went in the fort and called for them to find me. They both giggled at the other as they would go in and out of it. Eventually, it all came tumbling down as you can see in the picture below. We had a blast and it is a memory I will remember for a long time.

Other big news....Leah's first tooth finally popped through this past weekend!

Playing in our diapers

Before bedtime, we usually let the kids run/play around in their diapers. Usually they climb on us or play on their own, but tonight was too funny.... I was getting their pj's from the other room and Greg told me to hurry and come in the living room. I knew it had to be something funny, so I ran to get the video camera. Of course, the funnier videos are too long to post. Anyway, Evan decides it would be funny to pester Leah.

Having a Ball

I stole the idea of this activity from some friends of ours. Leah and Evan have been getting really tired of playing with the same toys (they're really deprived of toys ya know!). So, I went out to buy some plastic balls to put inside their baby pool. The kids had a blast in there. It easily kept them entertained for a half hour! Although I am sure the novelty of this will eventually die down, they are having a ball for now (or 165 of them to be precise). This is not the video clip I really wanted to put on the blog. The one I want is too long, but it's so cute of Leah cackling when we first put her in the pool.

Leah Learning to Walk

Last Thurs. night was my night out with the girls. I had just gotten to the end of our street when my phone rang. It was Greg calling to tell me that Leah had just taken 5 steps by herself. I missed it! We always thought I would be the one to see it happen first since I was at home with her, but Daddy got to witness our baby girl trying to walk for the first time. We did not get this momentous occasion on tape the first time.
However; here is a little clip I captured tonight of Leah trying to walk on her own.

We are 10 months old!

Leah
Evan
What are you doing?
Funny faces
The twins are now 10 months old. Leah has tried to take a step by herself a couple of times. They both will walk pretty well while holding our fingers. Evan's teeth are getting bigger and we think Leah's teeth will be coming in anytime now. They LOVE eating plums, pluots and peaches. Infact, the other day at the grocery store, Evan got upset because he saw me picking out pluots and I didn't give him one to eat. They have been trying more and more adult foods such as rice, mashed potatoes, ground beef, and egg yolks. Only two more months of formula....YEAH! That stuff gets expensive with two infants eating 26 oz. bottles each a day.
They are babbling more and more each day. Other than that, same stuff...different day.
Happy Birthday to my babies!!

My first haircut

Before haircut (with all his hair combed forward)
After his haircut (handsome young boy!)
Evan's hair was getting so long, it was TIME to get it cut!! He absolutely DID NOT sit still, but it's over and done with and he looks so handsome.
