We met some of our great friends at the Shriner's Circus last weekend. Evan criedwhined when the lights went out and took a couple of minutes to get adjusted, but ended up liking it. That boy, I tell you!

My favorite part was watching two sisters do backbends and then walk themselves inside a glass box. Both of them contorted themselves in the one box-CRAZY! I also thought the tiger tamer was pretty funny. Totally looked like he was straight from 1980's!..."TOTALLY"

I wanted to get cotton candy for the kids for their first time at the circus. Neither one of them cared for it and the bag is still sitting in our pantry! Guess I shouldn't complain about the fact they don't like a mouth full of straight sugar. I love these three pictures of Evan getting ready to eat, eating and then disliking the cotton candy. So funny.

A Room Of My Own

Now that the basement has been finished since December, and the office furniture has been set up downstairs, we decided to let Evan and Leah should have their own rooms. Leah has been requesting a pink/purple room with Princess decor. Evan, just wanted a blue room.
His decor requests have changed from Dinosaurs to Trains to something else I can't remember. I think we are going with a sport theme though. A couple of Saturdays ago, Greg had gone to the hockey game with some friends. I got a crazy idea that I would go ahead and try painting the room with the help of two 3 year olds. What was I thinking?
Actually, they did pretty well. No paint bucket spill or drips on the carpet. They started off painting in Greg's old shirts, but kept tripping over them, so down to overnight pull-ups they went. So, Evan's room is khaki on the bottom, we will be putting up white chair rail in the middle of the wall and then the top color is called 'Washed denim.'

I had Greg's help this past weekend in painting Leah's room. The color of her room is 'Lilac Tan.' Between a tan/pink/purple color. The kids helped a little, but Greg said pretty quickly, "I don't know how you did this with them!"

They have been sleeping in their new rooms for 4 nights now and it's gone pretty well. Leah still doesn't want to stay in her room. Despite the fact that she promised Greg and I that once her room was painted the way she wanted, she would stay in her room and not come out of it when first going to bed or in the middle of the night. Ha! Now her excuse is she needs decorations like Princesses or Ballerinas and she will stay in her room. We shall see....

Our Pets

Which one to buy? Didn't get any of those. These are our newest addition to our family ;) Daddy putting them in the tank

I feel so bad for Evan and Leah because as long as they are living under my roof, they will never be able to have an animal with fur or feathers. I am allergic to everything! Greg had said he always wanted another fish tank and decided it was time. We picked out 6 Mickey Mouse fish-3 orange and 3 yellows (that is what they are really called) and a little red-tailed shark. Since our first visit to the store, we have bought two more fish, Guarami's? They are really pretty powder blue fish.

We let the kids pick out some plants and some decor for the tank. Evan picked out a T-Rex and Leah picked out a pink princess castle with a heart shaped entry. Too funny!

The kids love seeing the fish swim around and have gotten better about not tapping on the glass. Names that have been tossed around: Cinderella, Snow White and Sleeping Beauty, Bego-Bego for the shark (some made up word the twins came up with; which is now a family joke), Max and Ruby-from a kids' cartoon for the two blue fish.

I'll Tumble For Ya

We enrolled the kids in a gymnastics class with their cousins, Mia and Maddy. They have had two sessions so far and LOVE it! Evan is the only boy, but he doesn't mind one bit. He's actually quite good! Leah is wanting to learn how to do a cartwheel, but I think that's a couple of classes down the road.

St. Patty's Day Parade 2011

We met some friends at the Cottleville parade the Sat. before St. Patrick's Day. We didn't expect so many people. WOW! As soon as we got there, Evan lost his little canvas tote I bought the kids for parade candy. That was a long 15 minutes of searching/backtracking our steps...no luck= crying.

We settled down in our chairs and Leah informed me she has to go to the bathroom. I found a police officer and asked where porta-potties were. He had no idea. So, we walked further down the road and asked another police officer. He had no idea either. We took a chance and walked into a store. Thank goodness they were nice enough to let us use theirs. When we got back to our chairs (we walked quite a ways down the road), Greg found out there were porta potties about 5 min. walking from our seats-the other direction! AUGH!
The parade was a long one and kind of a stinky one at that. We were sitting towards the end of the parade, so by the time the floats got to us, they didn't have ANY candy left. This was a disappointment to the kids, but they were happy they caught some green beads.
We still had fun with our friends!
