I have to first say that I typed this entry on Friday night and have since revised it due to Leah.
With that said...Evan has been so sick this past week. Tuesday he ended up throwing up a total of 5 times and ended up with a fever of 102. Wed. and Thurs. seemed to be better, but then Thurs. night at dinner, he looked he was in a scene from the Exorcist where she throws up the green stuff. (However, his was mostly water mixed with a bit of licorice {yes, he had one strand of licorice the other day}.) Poor thing. It just kept coming and coming and coming-quite a lot from such a little thing. Friday he seemed a little better. Whiny and tired looking, but better.
I have also been sick this week. I am thinking I have Bronchitis. I have had the chills, my throat and ears hurt, I have a lovely croupy cough and I have almost completely lost my voice. Thank goodness for Dr.s who fill a prescrip. with not seeing you!
Greg surprised us Friday morning by taking the day off work. Although we would have loved to have taken a family trip to the zoo on such a gorgeous day, we opted to do something close by. We took the kids to the park and ate lunch (our first picnic together). Evan saw a family flying a kite and kept saying, "Kite Daddy!" So, we headed home to fly our kite that we have never opened. Not the greatest day for flying a kite, but amused the kids some. Both kids seemed fine throughout, took their naps and ate just a little bit for dinner. However; last night as Greg and I were watching a movie, I heard Leah coughing and eventually start throwing up. I ran in there to see her sitting up, crying and throwing up. Evan woke up to see what all the fuss was about, but went back to sleep. I guess he figured, 'Been there, done that, NIGHT!'
We took her in the kitchen, got her undressed and redressed and she threw up again. We took
those jammies off and put new ones on her, brought her in the living room, watched a little more of the movie and she threw up again! So, once more, we changed her jammies and brought her in bed with us. (lots of great smelling clothes for the washing machine!)
She slept off an on through out the night and threw up about 2 more times. This morning, Evan woke up crying with a diarrhea diaper for Mommy, I changed him and brought him into bed with us for about another hour. About an hour after we were up, Evan became very irritable and complaining that his stomach hurt. I ended up making him a Dr.'s appt. because this was the 5th day of really bad diapers and he was in so much pain! Right before we went to the Doctor's, he ended up giving us the MOTHERLOAD of all poopy diapers! I think he felt so much better then. Doc said to keep them on a toast, etc. diet and just hydrate! Greg and I are hoping we don't get sick as well.
Hoping that all of you are able to keep healthy!! :)
