Little late playdate

Mmmmmm....cake!

It was so hot outside today, so I took the kids to Mid Rivers Mall to play indoors at their indoor playground area. After we played and shopped QUICKLY, I took them to a local bakery. (We had gotten coupons from the parade Sat. where one coupon is good for the whole family). So, we all three got our cupcakes and went home to each lunch. After the kids woke up from their naps, I let them eat their cupcakes. Leah got a LOT more messy than Evan. Had to post this. I think that she is going to love getting facials and massages when she gets older. She rubs it in like it's a moisturizer or something!

On Father's Day, I let Greg sleep in (which I might add my kids did NOT let me sleep in on Mother's Day...not fair!). In the morning, we went over to my parents' house to visit and then later in the afternoon, we visited with Greg's family. We had a great time visiting with family and are very thankful for all they have done for us. They are wonderful fathers of which we are greatful!

Greg, you are a WONDERFUL father! I am truly blessed to have you in my life and am so happy that Evan and Leah have such a caring and loving person for their Daddy. Thanks for all the Daddy things you do!!

I Love a Good Parade

This weekend, St. Peters had their Annual Old Tyme Fair. I had taken the kids to Fort Zumwalt South's Homecoming Parade when they were almost a year old. At that parade, they weren't too sure about all of the screaming and noises coming from the cars, but they loved the parade this time around. We brought their own little chairs for them to sit in; of which they only sat in them for part of the time. I thought for sure when the police officers rode up and down the street to tell us the parade was about to begin, Evan would freak out, but he didn't. He thought the motorcycles were so cool! However, he did NOT like the Shiner's go-karts. They were a little too loud. Once the floats started coming by with candy to throw out, Evan and Leah watched the other kids and quickly picked up on the excitement and joined in on gathering the candy from the street. (It was like Halloween. I ended up filling a gallon ziploc bag to the top with candy. Guess you get all the rest of the candy when you sit at the end of the parade route!)
Overall, the kids really enjoyed the parade and when you ask them if they want to go to another parade, they both smile from ear to ear and say, "yeah!"

Last week I went to a place called Once Upon a Bash with the kids. We met some of my friends that I use to work with at Larimore Elementary School. It is a nice size room open for anyone who is looking for a new place for their kids to play. It was only $5.00 per child and not at my house (so I didn't have to worry about cleaning), so I was happy. They have many different things like a kitchenette, picnic table, tea party table, dress-ups, books, trains, etc. to play with. They also have a staff member come out dressed as a character. Evan DID NOT LIKE Dora the Explorer!!!!!!!!!! He cried for quite some time after she left. He kept pointing to the back where Dora came in and repeating, "Bye, bye?"

I had a great time visiting with such fun friends! Evan and Leah would like to go back I am sure, but are probably hoping Dora won't be there.

Tight fit

I have to preface this entry by saying, I know my kids are only in their diapers in this video as they are in the majority of videos. However; they had just had their bath and we were getting ready to put p.j.'s on them, when we saw this...

After I turned the camera off, Evan really got mad and started crying. So, I took him into our master bathroom and let him crawl into his favorite spot in there....under Greg's sink and that seemed to satisfy Evan's needs!

Spotless

Leah has become my helping hand in cleaning the house. I can't wait till she is older and can really help clean. Although, by then, she will probably complain that she has to. This video is actually from a couple of weeks ago.
