Scroll On Down

I started this post on Valentine's Day, but didn't finish. So, scroll down to the post after the "Disney Dazzle and Dessert" post and take a look at these DELICIOUSLY HUGE cupcakes!

Weekend With Family (From Feb.)

Last weekend, my sister, brother-in-law and niece came in town from Kansas City to visit. We had a great time. Saturday we met at The Magic House. The kids had a great time playing. Afterwards, we went down the street to a local brewery-very good beer! I enjoyed watching Cora put her arm around Leah when I was trying to take a picture of them together. She is only 13 months old and knew that EVERY time I went to take a picture, to put her arm around Leah. SO FUNNY!
Everyone went home for a much needed nap and then it was time to order pizza and play some games at our house. The guys played darts and Mandy, the kids and I played Just Dance on the Wii. Evan beat Papa and Aunt Mandy at Supermario Kart-way too funny to watch.

Sunday, we visited my Aunt Connie and my Grandparents and then went over to my parents for a little BBQ dinner; which was ended a little earlier than I expected due to Leah starting to run a fever (which turned into Bronchitis).

Superbowl Sunday

I know this is a tad late, but I still wanted to post some pictures. We had a fun Superbowl Sunday at our house this year. We had a full house! About 15 or so kids....many of which became sick with one thing or another the following weeks.
However; they seemed to have all had a great time playing together while they were here. Here are a couple of pictures from the night.

A Lunch Date With Daddy

Today's weather forecast looked so nice, we decided to meet Greg for lunch at Stacy Park by his work. Poor Evan has a sinus & ear infection, but was still up to going to the park. I was just as eager to have some fresh air!

Leah helped me pack the lunch bags and we headed out. We weren't even done with our lunch and the kids commented that they wanted to meet Daddy for lunch again sometime soon.

It was nice outside, just a bit breezy. This weather is making us very excited for Spring!

Disney Dazzle and Dessert

Beauty & The Beast
Cinderella
Jessie from Toy Story
Sunday two of my very good friends and their daughters went with Leah and I to a play at St. Charles Community College. I realized, once I was there, this was my cousin's old theater group performing. They did a very good job bringing all the different princess stories to life for the kids.
Leah covered her eyes for the first 10 minutes and cried.

She said she was scared and I guess overwhelmed?! After that, she was fine and LOVED it. In fact, she is STILL talking about it- "I LOVED the place we went to and saw Disney Princesses! It was SO much fun!"
While we enjoyed the skits, they brought around: brownies, cookies, little cinnamon rolls, little cupcakes, eclairs, Smoothie King smoothies, pink lemonade. Whatever you wanted.
This was one of the days I enjoyed doing something just Leah and I. I THOUGHT Evan and Dad could have a little bonding time, but when I returned home, I learned that was not the case. Right after I left, Evan told Greg he wanted to be with me and to go away. Evan ended up crying himself to sleep and woke up just when I got home. Such a Momma's Boy!
I really enjoyed my time doing something girly with my girly girl!

Yummy Cupcakes

My dear friend Lindsey and her daughter, Olivia, met Evan, Leah and myself at Jilly's Cupcake Bar & Cafe off of Delmar. I have never been there before, but heard great things about their cupcakes. They also have lunch and a brunch that I will definitely see about trying. There was a consistent line almost out the door while we were there.

I started to take a bite of my cupcake and realized that even though the sign said, "white cake" and I also told the girl I wasn't a huge chocolate fan, that the cupcake I got with the chocolate shavings on top also had chocolate cake. So, when I went back up to ask about it all, the girl said I could pick out a different one and just keep the one she had given to me previously. So, in the picture above, the chocolate one was my first cupcake. Most of their cupcakes are filled with chocolate or a fruit filling of somesort. These cupcakes are HUGE! Little on the pricey side for a cupcake, but they do have cheaper ones that are not filled that are just as delicious.

I let the kids eat their cupcakes and I saved the cupcakes for Greg and I for home. We actually ended up splitting them both and to my surprise, I liked the chocolate one just as much!
Evan and Leah took about 3 days to nibble on their cupcakes. ;)

Happy New Year

Too cute in hats
Blake, Peyton, Leah and Drew celebrating on the stairs

Happy horn blowers
We enjoyed the company of some of our best friends on New Year's Eve. We had some yummy food, beverages and laughed at watching our kids on tv (our friends have video cams set up in the toy room and another room. So we were able to watch what the kids were doing from downstairs. Very funny to watch and see what you're kids do when you aren't present in the same room ;) )

All of the kids made it to midnight and we didn't leave until almost 1am! Here are some cute pictures of the night.
